Common Entrance Exam in Nepal The tremendous increase in the number of candidates to pursue higher education has led to the undertaking of Entrance Examinations. The examination that is conducted to testify the skills and intelligence of a student corresponding to the applied stream is the Entrance exam. The pattern, syllabus, mode of conduct, eligibility may vary for distinctive streams. Additionally, the specifications of an entrance exam change from country to country as well. Nepal is a small country with an adequate amount of population, needs to raise the standards of their education system. This is been made possible to a successful intent in terms of Medical Education, as the Medical Council of India handles the external and internal affairs of Medical Education in Nepal. With an approximate amount of 20 colleges in Nepal, affiliated to two universities i.e. Kathmandu University and Tribhuwan University, are all recognized by the Medical Council of India. The common entrance exam of Medical Studies in Nepal is the same entrance that is accepted in India. National Eligibility cum Entrance Test typically known as NEET is all India accepted entrance exam for undergraduateMedical Streams. The exact is valid for medical studies in Nepal. Many students from India and other countries appear for NEET to secure their admission in Medical Colleges of India and Nepal. NEET- Entrance for UG in MBBS A candidate is liable to appear for NEET, either while he appears for 12th grade or after completion of higher secondary education. The NEET exam constitutes a sum of 180 questions carrying 4 marks each. This makes the total score of 720 of the entire test. The exam lasts for 3 hours. The exam is divided into 3 sections as chemistry, physics, and biology. Again biology is divided as Biology and Zoology. Each section includes 45 questions. The exam has negative marking scheme of 25%. Common Entrance Examfor PG Medical Education in Nepal CEEMD/MS exam is the common entrance exam for all MD and MS degrees in medical streams. This medical entrance exam is conducted by the Medical Education Commission. The mode of examination is offline. The questions in the exam are of multiple choice type with only one correct answer in each question. The total number of questions is 200, which are divided into various sections. 115, questions are related to clinical knowledge. The basics include 60 questions, 10 from PSM, 5 questions from forensics and the remaining 10 are from Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation. To qualify for this exam, the candidate needs a minimum of 50% marks. The exam lasts for 3 hours. The obligatory verifiable CPD topics are covered in 10 questions. The respective topics constitute of Professional Ethics, Communicational skills,Use of Drugs, and Control and prevention of Infections, along with Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation. Students of Nepal and other countries must appear for this exam to secure admission in the corresponding Institute. The admission seats are allotted based on ranking, and no categorization of the admission seats is done as per the caste or religion. Tremendous candidates appear for various common entrance exams, to secure the justified learning position in the Institution. As the medical affairs of Nepal, a foreseen by MCI the educational quality of Nepal is similar to that of India.
