The Southwest Airlines boarding process is unique and efficient, designed to keep things moving quickly. Instead of assigned seats, passengers are given a boarding group (A, B, or C) and a number from 1 to 60. Your position is based on check-in time, fare type, or if you purchased EarlyBird Check-In. At boarding time, passengers line up in numerical order within their group. Once on board, you can choose any available seat. Families with small children and passengers needing assistance are allowed to board early. Business Select passengers and A-List members usually get top boarding priority. This open seating policy helps reduce delays and speeds up the entire boarding process.
